We're Expecting A Baby!!!

Will and I decided that once we got married we wanted to try for a baby. We started in April, on the 18th to be exact = ) and on October 14th took a test to find it to be POSITIVE! That was the one month I really didn't think that I was going to end up pregnant because my mom, Bubba and I had gone to Bahamas on a cruise in September which I thought was during my ovulation period. I hadn't taken a test for about two months and randomly that morning decided to take one while waiting for the doctor to call me about my sinus, upper respiratory and tonsil infections (which was a joy). I was getting ready to grab the test and put it in the trash when I glanced and noticed two lines. I immediately woke Will up who was still sleeping before getting up for work, and made him look at it and see if what I thought I was looking at was accurate. I'll tell you, I've never seen Will come out of a deep sleep so fast! When I was on the phone with the doctor he said that if it came out positive it was positive, although I was in so much shock I though for sure it was because of all the medicine I was on for the infections that it was coming out positive. I guess that's not how it works. Here is the timeline of when everything happened:

October 14th - Took home test, then went and took a test at the lab. Both which came out positive. I was so gitty but didn't know how to react because it just didn't seem real. Will was the same way.

October 30th - Will and I went to our first appointment at 9am. We had an in office ultrasound which looked like I wasn't as far along as we thought. At that time we thought that the baby would be about 8 weeks but the baby was looking smaller. We were referred to Ultrasound at the hospital for an official due date ultrasound.

November 3rd - Will was super busy at work so my dad came along for the ultrasound. We found out that the baby was 7 weeks 3 days, putting the due date at June 19th, 2010. I don't have the picture scanned but I'll just tell you what it looked like. A blob. The cool thing was that the blob had a heart beat that you could see, although it was to early to hear yet.

November 17th - I was in the Nurse Treatment Room getting an IV for dehydration because by this point I was throwing up 10-15 times a day. Oh goodness, this sucked so bad, but the IV helped a ton, not for long term but to make me feel like I could actually stand up for more than a second. Oh by the way, the IV made my hair look SUPER nice.

November 30th - Will and I went to our appointment at 8:45am. We got to hear the heartbeat for the first time! The baby was 11 weeks 2 days.

December 28th - Will and I went to our appointment at 9:45am. We heard the heartbeat again, this time it was much louder and easier to find. I think this is when being pregnant started becoming more real for both Will and I.

January 26th - 9:15am we had our ultrasound appointment. We were so excited because this is when we planned to have the tech write the gender on a piece of paper, put it in an envelope and we were going to open it that night with our family and a couple of friends, that is if all went as planned. Thankfully after and hour and about fifteen minutes that darn stubborn baby uncrossed it's ankles. Will and I were in the first part of the appointment, then when the diagnostic stuff was over my mom, dad and Bubba (Kristi) my sister came in to check the baby out.

Check out that spine!

Profile, looks like baby has big lips.

IT'S A GIRL!!!!

January 27th - 10:15am my mom and I went to this appointment because Will was stuck at work. After seeing the same Nurse Practitioner for all the other appointments I decided to see a midwife and see how that went. She was okay but we're still going to "shop" around. At this appointment she told us that everything looked great in the ultrasound.

We plan to name our little girl Maci Nicole Yeats Healey. We love her so much already and she's already being spoiled by many...especially Bubba and Amanda.
