Appointment 6/10/10 at 38 Weeks, 5 Days

Will and I went to our appointment on Thursday at 8am. Things are looking good, Maci is still moving around and she has a healthy heart beat. I'm still retaining a lot of water but I don't have any signs that something is wrong so she isn't worried about it. Kelly our midwife would like me to soak in water to release some of the water but I haven't had time yet. I could if I was in our bath, but when I look at it and I look at me, I don't think we're a good match right now.

As of Thursday I was 2cm dilated, 80% effaced and my cervix is ripe. I think it sounds like we're talking fruit or something when she says that it is ripe but whatever, that's the lingo.

Come on little Maci, we're ready to meet you!

38 Weeks

My body is progressing...

I'm proud to announce that my body is doing some of the right things to get ready for labor. As of Thursday when I went to see our midwife I was 37 weeks, 5 days. Although she wasn't going to check to see if I was progressing until my next appointment, I asked her to check anyway just so I could know if my body was doing anything at all yet. I was 1.5 cm dilated and 70% effaced. Go body! That doesn't mean anything is going to happen any sooner but at least things are happening. She was very pleased with my effacement because that is the hardest part for first time moms apparently. GO ME!

This morning, 6/5 I lost my mucus plug. Once again, doesn't mean anything is going to happen any sooner than my due date, but another sign that the right things are happening. Again, GO ME!

That's all for now, a quick update that she's still in there, healthy and growing like crazy. It's looking like she'll be in the 8-9 lb range so we'll see. Hoping for a smooth delivery!
