10 Months and Getting Strong

Maci is 10 months now, as of yesterday 4/14.  Maci is now:

Saying -

dada, daddy, momma, kitty, Ya-Ya (that is what she named our cat who was a stray), hi, nigh-night (the name she gave her pacifier) and she is now working on saying kiss.  She is SO smart!

Doing -

Maci as of yesterday on her 10 months started scooting backwards on the ground when on her tummy.  She went to one side of the room, made a U-Turn and went to the other side.  She would get a little tired from time to time and lay her head down and then start again.

If you tell her to clap, clap, clap she will clap her hands.  My goodness, who would have known that clapping hands could be so cute?

She is now playing Peek-A-Boo on her own.  She will hide her face and come our from under whatever she has used to hide and wait for you to say PEEK-A-BOO!  How fun, she's playing with me!

Maci will also turn in circles and use her hands to push herself backwards to get to toys and move around on the floor when she is sitting up.  She might not be crawling but she is finding ways to get around.

Other -

Maci now has her two bottom teeth that came at 6-7 months, and now she has the tooth between her eye tooth and her front tooth on her left side, as of this morning her front left tooth is starting to come through as well.

Maci is just over 20 lbs and is a skinny thing.  She is long and wearing 12-18 month pants and 9-12 month shirts.

We've Moved

Will, Maci and I are officially living in Woodland, Washington.  We moved on March 12th and we LOVE our new home.  We have been able to spread out a bit, the house is almost double the size we were in.  I have to admit, we did love the house we were in, it was nice and cozy but we have way to much stuff for that house.  We lived in a 1,200 sq ft home, then 984 sq ft and now just over 1,600 sq ft.  All of us, including Maci like to have the space outside, the house is on 5 acres so we get to see lots of wildlife pass through the yard which is so much fun.  Our neighbors are Will's parents who have been so good to us.  We get to have dinners with them once or twice a week and catch up on what has happened the days we haven't seen each other.

Moral of the story, we moved and we love it.

8 Month Update

Maci is so funny!  Here are a few updates about our girl:

  • Maci goes to school and is doing really well there.  She has even brought home two art projects!

  • When she is trying to be silly she will give us a super cheesy smile showing her top gums and squint her eyes real tight.

  • Maci has suddenly taken an interest in food.  She didn't want to have anything to do with it one day, and wanted to eat 3 times a day the next.

  • She will respond to you when talking with "dada" no matter what you say to her, although she can make all kinds of other two letter "words" out like ba, ya, ma and some other randoms here and there.

  • Maci only says momma when she is really annoyed.  It is obvious she knows that she is calling for me, but only says it when she is not real thrilled.  At least I know she wants me when she isn't happy haha!

  • Our girl still isn't into rolling over or being on her stomach.  She will probably just get up and walk some day.

  • Maci's hair is FINALLY long enough to put a clippie in it.

  • She still only has her two bottom teeth but it looks like she has a few teeth on top getting closer to the surface, including her eye teeth.

  • I can now put Maci down in her bed awake, put her blanket on, give her a pacifier kiss her and leave the room and she will go to sleep on her own.  She actually prefers it this way now.

  • When sitting and playing she finds a way to twist so that she ends up sitting in a different direction then I put her.  I'm not sure how this happens, she doesn't do it when I'm looking.

  • Maci will now give Will or I a hug if we ask for one, what a sweet girl she is!

That's about all I can think of right now, she's such a joy!  It has been 8 months as of February 14th (yes my little Valentine) and I can honestly say that even with lack of sleep and all the work that comes with having a baby, this is the BEST thing that could have ever happened to me.  I am so thankful for her every day and can't wait to be with her when I get off work, and don't want to be away from her on my days off because she is just THAT cool.

January 14th = 7 Months

Maci turned 7 months on 1/14/11 and she's getting SO big!  We went to the doctor for the cold that she has had since she started going to the Academy For Kids on January 4th.  That is just the joys of school, at least she will be getting her immune system up now so that later on she wont have to deal with all of this.  Anyway, while we were there they weighed her and she is 19lbs!  She is such a funny girl, she spends a lot of time smiling, talking to herself, if we talk to her she stops talking.  Maci also likes to talk a lot when she is annoyed, you always know she isn't happy with something when she starts ranting on and on, it's so funny.  Miss Priss still isn't rolling around; she stopped rolling after she did it a few times months back and now she's just not into it.  On the other hand she is great at sitting and is starting to be able to reach far forward without falling forward to get things, she gets so proud of herself!  A couple days ago when she did end up falling over and ended up on her belly she was able to get her toosh in the air with her knees under her but she hasn't figured out how to hold herself up with her arms yet.  She'll do it all when she's ready.  For now, I'm just enjoying watching her play and be cute in one place before I get to the chasing her around stage.

I need to upload pictures and edit them, I haven't had time in a long while but I will get to it soon.  She is a cute little thing!
